Science  -Is it waterproof?

Art – All About Me!

This is an activity that will be very personal to you.  You are going to create a collage or picture that reflects who you are.  Your likes and loves; the things that are important to you.

PSHE

When things are different, it is important that we think about how we feel and keep track of our emotions.  Complete the personal weekly log on the attached sheet and speak to a grown up about how the changes in your life have made you feel.  If you do not want to speak to anybody, you can put your thoughts on paper and send them to the home learning email address.

Week beginning 6th July.

Please complete the English and Maths task below and one task from the grid.

The other home learning is optional but please share with us anything you complete.

Email homelearning to homelearning@springwood.hants.sch.uk by Monday 13th July at 9:00.

Your maths task is to record a timetable of your day, reading the clock to find out what time you do different things. This can be as many times as you wish to include but as a minimum should include when you got up, lunchtime, dinnertime and bedtime.

Science

Most plants begin life beneath the ground.  They grow from seeds, which drop into the soil.  There is a way you can see what happens out of sight under ground. A bean is the seed of a plant.  You can grow it in a glass jar, where you can see it clearly…     Why not investigate how the roots grow?

We would also love to see any other plants/ vegetables that you have spent time growing so far this summer 

Science

Make a tin drum and a tom-tom.

They make different kinds of sounds, but they work in the same way.  When you hit a drum’s stretched skin, it vibrates.  This makes the air inside the drum vibrate – and out comes the sound.

Using the differentiation grid … find your challenge!

3.2.2020

🥔⚡️⚠️Super Hero Day - reading heroes 🥔⚠️⚡️

We all dressed up as super heroes today to launch a new  reading scheme and we are excited to read the brand new books during our guided reading sessions We have had

lots of fun this week participating in a variety of reading activities surrounding the book ,  Supertato.

We became investigators and planned a plot to try and catch that evil pea, we created wanted posters for the pesky pea and created our own super hero using a ‘roll on the wall’.

💌⛄️⭐️🌲Christmas fun 🌲💌⭐️⛄️

We have been Incredibly busy practising and rehearsing our lines and our songs for the Christmas performance, Aladdin Trouble.

A big congratulations  to all pupils for their incredible performance, we all thoroughly enjoyed the show. A BIG well done to Jasmine (Amelia) and Aladdin (Harry) for their enthusiasm and commitment.

We all partied hard to end the term. 🎉

9~12~2019

Clay- Guy Fawkes Heads

We have had great fun today using our clay skills to create a Guy Fawkes head. We used the pinching technique to create his facial features and we ‘scored’ the places which we were joining ( his ears). We have put our models up on display which will be shortly joined by a History learning journey. So if you are visiting the school please come and have a look!

Please also take a look at our photos whilst we were making them.

Guy Fawkes

We have had lots of fun learning all about Guy Fawkes and the fun powder plot that we decided to re-enact the scene when Guy Fawkes was under the Houses of Parliament in the dark, dirty cellars hiding the barrels of gun powder.

28~11~2019

Explorer Dome

We had great fun today in the explorer dome showing off all of our science skills. We were talking about all the different animals that live in different climates around the world, what they eat and how they adapt in order to survive.  We thought carefully about what the weather conditions would be like in different parts of the world e.g. deserts, rainforests, Antarctic.  The best part was when we experimented with dry ice and water to create a misty fog in the dome.  It felt like we were in snowy Antarctic!
