Our Learning

Our first half-term was really successful.  The star of the show was planning, designing and making smoothies to try in DT.

It was a real hit with the children, who were keen to investigate packaging, make decisions about what ingredients they wanted to include and the best bit of all was chopping the fruit and whizzing it all up!

In Geography, we learnt about beaches.

Test our knowledge in recognising some local and more distant beaches through their human and physical features.

We played a fun game of "Top Trumps" to compare their fun factor, human score and physical features score.

How do you rate them?

Have you visited any of these beaches before?

Maths

This week in maths we have been learning about the composition of numbers.  We have been making numbers with dienes, blocks and bead strings and representing numbers with drawings and part, part whole models.

In our maths meetings we have been learning about calendar maths; days of the week and months of the year, counted in multiples of 2s, 5s and tens, and have been recalling all the numbers that make totals of 10, as well as revising o'clock and half past on an analogue clock, and denominations of coins!

What a lot of learning for our first couple of weeks!
