Believing is Achieving!

This year, School Council have been working hard to help support our school to grow in many different ways. Here is a glimpse of what we have achieved so far…

  • We have helped to mould the new school behaviour policy
    After the initial launch, we went into the classrooms to get the opinions of children and staff which enabled us to make tweaks to the approach and set consistent expectation across the school.
  • Believing is Achieving!
    Alongside the behaviour policy we have helped to develop a new ethos across the school. Springwood’s new moto is ‘Believing is Achieving’ which encompasses three main ideas;
    • Be safe
    • Treat others as you would like to be treated
    • Do your best and be proud

You will find these key ideas in every classroom across the school and children are encouraged to refer to them daily to support them to be the best version of themselves.

  • Fund raising
    We have raised money for both Children In Need and Comic relief. There have been non-uniform days, crazy hair and temporary tattoos! We are looking forward to our up and coming fund raisers next term and would like to thank you for your support so far!
  • Book swap events
    Back by popular demand, there are regular book swap events held throughout the year in the infant school hall from 3pm. We would love to see you all at our next one;
    21st May 3pm-3.30pm just bring a book (or many books!) from home that you don’t read any more and swap it with one in school!

British Food Fortnight: School children get a taste for Hampshire produce

British Food Fortnight has begun, and Hampshire County Council’s caterers, HC3S, are testing children’s taste buds and showing them the kinds of food produced in Hampshire. The fortnight’s activities began on Friday 21 September, with a school visit to a fish farm.
