Brent Lodge Wildlife visit

On Thursday 8th June, Year 4 had a special visit by someone who works at Brent Lodge Wildlife Hospital.  They spoke to us about their role within the community and the hard work they do to help nurse sick animals back to full health and rescue animals in need.  We then learnt about different types of vertebrates and used this knowledge to create our own animal using natural resources.  What do you think of our art work?

Thank you to all the parents who were able to drop in and see what the children have been learning this half term. The children were thrilled to be able to share their home learning project. We have a fabulous array of coins and other ways to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.

In RE we have been learning about the significance of stones across religions. In Christianity stones can symbolise marking a person's life with a headstone, whereas in Islam there is an important stone which is part of the Kaaba - The Black Stone. Stones are also significant in Buddhist Zen gardens. We created our own stones and nature sculpture in a similar way to the artist Andy Goldsworthy.

RE - Stones as symbols.
