Our Classroom
To support our learning, our learning journeys are captured as we go to help us refer back to what we did before to help us with today. These are some of our journeys from Autumn 1.
Writing
In writing this half term, we have learnt about World War Two through the book 'The Lion and the Unicorn'. We imagined what it would have been like to be an evacuee hiding in shelters, heading to the train station, before travelling to Wales and being selected to join our new families.
Mental Health Day
To raise awareness about mental health, we wore yellow and completed activities thinking about how we can support others and ourselves.
Gymnastics
In our second PE block this term we have explored gymnastics. We have concentrated on balancing and creating tension with our partners on the floor or on apparatus.
Geography
In Geography this half term, we have learnt about Australia and discussed whether every country is equal. We had to interpret a range of sources to determine what resources Australia has. We linked this to our creative home learning project as we could apply what we had learnt.
Computing
We have enjoyed revisiting the computer program Scratch. We have learnt new skills to modify and create our own code.
Dodgeball
Year 5 have started their new PE topics this term: gymnastics and dodgeball. Pupils are learning a range of new skills in order to play games towards the end of the unit.
