Year 2
Minstead 2024
Day 1
Today we have…
- Made our beds
- Unpacked some of our suitcases
- Made and ate some lunch
- Played the snail game
- Built some dens
- Received our Minstead names
- Ate dinner with some yummy Brownies
- Researched all about our Minstead names
- Had a campfire and sung some songs
- Finally all went to bed by 11pm 😳
Day 2
Today we have…
- Woken up and had some breakfast (Some children were up as early as 6 much to the teachers dismay).
- Made our lunches for later on.
- Went on a very long but lovely walk through the new forest where we managed to see some ponies and some red deer.
- Had a picnic in the meadow with our homemade wraps from earlier.
- Learnt all about some of the plants they have in their garden which links to the Science learning we will be doing at school. We even got to try some of the herbs, vegetables and even a flower!
- We worked in teams to set some animal friendly traps and cameras which we are super excited to check on tomorrow!
- Had a yummy dinner and dessert.
- We gave Stanley his Minstead name when he returned to us after feeling better.
- We had a sing song in the roundhouse before having a run around (to hopefully tire them out!).
- We had some delicious hot chocolate which we had been waiting for since we arrived.
- Then we showered and finally got in bed.
Day 3
Today we…
- Woke up early to sing Happy Birthday to our birthday boy James.
- Packed all of our things away and stripped our beds.
- Had some yummy breakfast and made our sandwiches for lunch.
- Checked our small mammal traps and we were SO lucky to find that there was a bank vole and yellow-necked mouse in 2 of them!
- Had some snack in the shade.
- Worked expertly in groups to do some orienteering around the grounds.
- Had some yummy lunch before getting on the coach and heading back to school.
