Miss DeLuca now Mrs Griggs

I am the year 1 teacher for Ladybirds Class.

Change is sometimes worrying, but can also be exciting.

Here are some facts about me:

• My favourite colour is blue.

• I love the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling and reread them every year!

• In my spare time, I like to try new things. Some of the hobbies I enjoy are sewing, painting and yoga.

• I have collected every Disney and Disney-Pixar film on DVD. My favourites are “The Little Mermaid” and “Toy Story”.

• I am getting married in October, so after half term my name will change to Mrs Griggs!

Miss Brown will usually teach you on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Miss McGuinness will usually be teaching you on a Thursday and Friday.

Miss Brown

• This is my 9^th year working at Springwood and I absolutely love being here. I have taught in EYFS, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 (…and sometimes in year 4, 5 and 6 too!)
• I am passionate about teaching Art, exploring different mediums like paint, clay, charcoal, pastels and many more.   I’m looking forward to teaching you more Art skills so that you can create your very own masterpieces.
• I have two amazing children who are 5 and 2, nearly 3!
• I love cooking, baking, gardening, exercising and being with my family and friends.

Miss McGuinness

• I have spent the last year looking after my new baby. He is now 6 months old.  We have had lots of fun at home but I am now excited to come back to school as your teacher.
• I have a crazy black Cocker Spaniel called Olive. She loves to eat cheese and chase birds.
• In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, taking Finn swimming and going camping.
• My favourite food is anything spicy and I have an incredibly sweet tooth with a BIG love for chocolate.

I am Mrs Kemp and I will be teaching you on a Wednesday afternoon.

Here are some facts about me:

• My favourite foods are chocolate and lemon drizzle cake.
• I am married to Mr Kemp and have 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl.
• I have a cockapoo called Poppy and two cats called Bertie & Ernie.
• This is will be my fourth year at Springwood and I still learn something new every day!
• I love being creative and have just bought a new digital camera – it might take me a while to work out how to use it though!
• I also enjoy reading and would love to write a children’s book one day!
• I love going to the beach - I really miss the white sandy beaches I used to play on growing up in Scotland.

I am Mrs Ashman and I am the Ladybirds' class Teaching Assistant.

• My favourite food is party food-especially cheese and pineapple.
• I am married to Mr Ashman and we have 2 sons who are 20 and 17.
• I have a cat called Twinkle.
• When I was a child, I attended Springwood Junior School which was then called Hulbert Middle School so I have very fond memories of those years and now feel very privileged, honoured and blessed to be part of the Springwood Team as an adult supporting others to learn, achieve and succeed.
• This will be my fourth year at Springwood and I still love to learn something new every day!
